Welcome to Spirit of Provence Online!

Lavender... an integral part of Provence's culture... often called the coat-of-arms of Provence. Cultivated since the beginning of recorded civilization, generations of farmers in Provence have been growing lavender for soaps, essential oils, perfumes, teas and honey. They have long appreciated the sweet smell and beauty of this herb... the wonderful blue hue that colors the landscape from sun-drenched plateaus to fields at the foot of the hilltop villages.
If you're traveling to Provence please don't miss the Festivals! There are competitions to see who can pick the most lavender, parades in traditional costumes, celebrations throughout the summer.
